dailymile - A social training log for runners, cyclists, and triathletes.

I chanced upon the dailymile via  one of my running  friends on twitter. What was interesting to me was it had an integration with twitter - all your running logs(in fact all notes) can be automatically twittered by setting up the twitter feed.  Since I was twittering as well as entering my logs in RunningAhead.com, that would be a neat trick.

But you need to get an invite from someone who is already a member or request for one to get an account. I had to wait for couple of days to get in.  It sure is different from other running sites,  it has a web 2.0 look and feel. While feature wise,  I am not sure if it has all of the ones other sites have, especially running courses with google maps etc., but for a start it looked good. They have some cool widgets for your events with counters that I have added here on the right handside.  I also added Bangalore Ultra 2008 and Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon as my racing events.

I am planning to update both Runnigahead logs and  dailymile for a while before setlling on one of the two - but I look hooked on to dailymile already, it sure gives the feeling that runners or athletes are human beings, not machines that churn out the miles and time targets. Kind of social if you will!
