While every other vendor wants to just focus on one part of the product or service that provides the customer experience, google's chrome is a bold move in my opinion. Many organizations waste a humongous amount of time trying to fit its parts with others and force them to a local sub-optimization thinking with the part they have complete control which may not result in the best value for their customers. So from google's perspective it is a great move to control more parts in the ultimate solution or service. I would agree with them that a rewrite from scratch of the browser is indeed a necessity considering the way things are moving on the web.
Yes, it does have the risk of google becoming a Microsoft, so it is natural for people to be suspicious about their moves, but they sure smacks of innovation in the internet world which at the moment looks good for the world.
BTW, I am using chrome to edit this post - I don't experience anything except the fact that the buttons have reduced, though I can see all the ones that matter to me. Below the hood, I checked their memory usage and figured out that they are using separate processes for each of the tab, that could be a good thing for my vista with 1GB of memory.

I found that browsing with chrome is an awesome new experience.
ReplyDeleteOn a page if you click on a link, it opens adjacent to the existing page, it is very easy to toggle between different tabs, history and most frequently visited sites displayed on a single page makes it very easy to use. I am not very sure about the security features though
