In one of the company conferences I attended sometime back, C K Prahlad, management guru asked what the time was to one of the front row members in the audience.
"Scott, what's the time ?"
Scott looked at his watch and said, "it is 5:30"
Then he made fun of Scott, who was a senior executive in the company, that he was old fashioned. He said the youngsters these days don't wear a watch, but use their cell phone to check the time. I wasn't so convinced about it though. I used to wear a watch those days.
But the next day when I was about to leave the hotel, my shuttle didn't show up on time and I asked one of the hotel staff, a young boy, about it. He just took his cell phone out to check the time and said he will check on it!
After several years, I find myself in the same boat, I don't wear a watch, but use my cell phone for checking time. But I still do have a sports watch to check on my interval times for run-walk !

That is kind of interesting. I hadn't thought about the generational change. At 27 I still wear a watch and use it the vast majority of the time to check what time it is. A nice benefit of using your phone though is that it is based off the cell-providers network time which should be more accurate than our watches!
