I saw the Blog Action Day 2008 - Poverty site the same day that I read articles about poverty in India in the weekly, The Week. Even after 61 years of independent rule, there are parts of the country where people still struggle to make a living. There is starvation and discrimination due the community they are born into.
I realized that I belong to the minority in the country, who are very well off compared to these folks. Though I want to do something that I can, I have been struggling to find ways of contribute except for a one off charity collection during runs or donations. So I am on the lookout for some opportunities to get really active on this front.
So I am pledging a day's salary for Blog Action Day 2008 - Poverty
